Radio Network Alive Check Module

For Enhanced Lone Worker Security

When the Radio Network Alive Check Module detects an error, it quickly alerts lone workers, technical staff or a control room through means which do not depend on the faulty system. It could be flashing lights or sirens or it can reach personnel by SMS or through SCADA-systems.

Giving You Certainty

Whenever a critical situation occurs, for instance when lone worker is being monitored, it is of high importance that the radio network is alive.

The Radio Network Alive Check Module constantly verifies, that the network and vital parts of the Alarm Control System, the Centralized Lone Worker Module or the Man Down Notifier is operational.

In case of a faulty network, the Radio Network Alive Check Module warns through lights, sound or through SMS or the plant SCADA-system.

Functionality

The Radio Network Alive Check Module consists of a small, robust piece of hardware, the Alive Check Unit, and a software package installed on a PC.

It continuously checks the radio network and selected vital parts of the Alarm Control System or the Centralised Lone Worker system, and if it gets a faulty answer, the hardware will activate designated relay outputs or send SMS text messages to predefined users.

These outputs typically activate warning lights, sound or SCADA-alarms. When the System is alive again, the relays in the Alive Check Unit are reset.

The Radio Network Alive Check Module work with TETRA or MOTOTRBO radio networks. It require two radios - one to send the alive check heartbeat into the radio network and one to receive the heartbeat. Using two radios the system will be able to check the radio air interface effectively.
