ZONITH Lone Worker Protection in use in DONG Energy Power Plants

In an effort to make employees as safe as possible, DONG Energy installed the ZONITH Lone Worker Protection System. It has been up and running since the turn of the year, and the new system is doing well.

Safer Employees

The lone worker alarms are triggered automatically if the lone worker is unable to raise the alarm himself. The alarms are sent to colleagues on their TETRA radios at the plant and to a nearby rescue central. If, for some reason, the Lone Worker Protection System or Network cannot send the alarms to its recipients, the lone workers are warned by other means.

Rene Fritzen, project manager with DONG Energy, emphasizes that the knowledge of this system provides the lone workers with a feeling of being protected at work; no matter how isolated they are in their physical environment.

A More Efficient Place of Work

With technical alarms as well as lone worker alarms dispatched directly to the personnel TETRA radios there is no longer a need for the constant presence of employees in the control room. Employees can instead move freely around the facility and rest assured, that they will be notified, if anything needs their attention - in the control room or anywhere else.
