TETRA, Lone-Worker and Power PlantsThe Grenaa Power Plant in Danmark has successfully taken TETRA communication into use for all their internal communication. In addition to their use of the TETRA voice communication they are using their TETRA network for Lone-Worker protection of their employees. The TETRA Alarm Control System from Zonith monitors the Lone-Worker alarm signals from the users Sepura TETRA radios and in case an employee is in danger a rescue team will be notified immediately. When a Lone-Worker alarm is raised the system automatically opens the gate allowing the rescue team to enter the power plant facilities. In addition all technical alarms from the plants ABB process control system is transmitted as SDS messages to the TETRA radios of the employees on duty. The technical alarms allow the employees to have full control over the plant even when they are away from the control room. The TETRA network is established by redundant DAMM TetraFlex basestations.
